Detailed Grade Breakdown
45% Tests: If you are absent on the day of a test, you must take it the first day you return and therefore you will miss the next unit lesson. Test reviews are a privilege and if you are absent the day of a review, you are still required to take the test the day it is given.
30% Assignments: Students will receive a homework assignment every class period except for test days. All homework is due on the day of the unit exam. All assignments will be checked for completion the class period after it is assigned. It is the student's responsibility to check the assignments for accuracy using either the in class or online correction keys. Please show your work. No work means no credit.
25% Quizzes: Every day there will be some sort of starter activity. Usually it will be a quiz, but not always. Students will be given the first 10 minutes of class to complete the starter. Students who are tardy will only have whatever time remains out of those 10 minutes to complete the starter. There is no make up for tardies. If you have an excused absence, you will be able to come and make up the points after school each Tuesday for the previous week. If you don't come in for the make up you will receive a zero. The same policy applies for any other quizzes.
5% Participation: Students will be given a daily participation grade that will include cell phone use, excessive talking, disruptive behavior, and attendance. Students with an excused absence will have the participation grade excused for that day. If the absence is unexcused, the student will receive a "0" for that day's participation.
